Bioavailable Absorbent Media (BAM)
BAM is a pyrolyzed cellulosic bio-mass product comprised of >80% fixed carbon and derived from a proprietary blend of organic materials which provides a substrate for both contaminant sorption and microbial colonization. BAM’s sorptive characteristics are derived from its unique and diverse honeycomb-like structured pores. These pores provide extremely high surface area per gram of material which allows for high contaminant sorption rates and retention. The structure also provides excellent microbial colonization potential promoting active microbial communities that eliminate biodegradable compounds. When combined, BAM’s characteristics allow for a wide range of contaminants to be captured, retained, and treated biologically.
