BAM & Soluble Carbon Injection

ORIN successfully conducted a pilot test to treat groundwater contaminated with chlorinated solvents using BAM, a pyrolized cellulosic material, and two soluble carbon sources: EOS (soluble carbon) and ABC+ (soluble carbon with ZVI). The 3 different chemistries targeted three different areas of the site. Each area received approximately 600 to 700 gallons of treatment chemistry, treating from 27 ft bgs to approximately 17 ft bgs. Baseline samples were taken prior to treatment to characterize the contaminant level and compare treatment reductions. Three, six, and nine months post treatment, groundwater samples were sent to a commercial laboratory for analysis.
