ORIN completes an injection project using an innovative treatment chemistry blend for chrome immobilization. ORIN injected treatment chemistry consisting of sodium dithionite solution mixed with ferrous sulfate into 18 injection wells. Sodium dithionite has relatively quick degradation characteristics, which presented some challenges for ORIN to overcome during the planning phase of the project. The chemical was delivered with the headspace purged with nitrogen to ensure minimal degradation during transit. ORIN arranged for the sodium dithionite to arrive in multiple shipments which allowed for each chemical container to be injected within 24 hours of manufacturing. The project was completed on schedule, and with ideal chemical distribution, both vertically and horizontally, across the targeted area.
