ORIN had the opportunity to travel to Ft. Buchanan near San Juan, Puerto Rico to conduct an Enhanced Reductive Dechlorination injection (ERD).  The project was designed to treat contaminated groundwater affected with chlorinated solvents.  A series of drilled injection wells and DPT injection points were utilized to deliver the electron donor, carbon substrate solution.  The treatment solution blend consisted of Anaerobic Biochem (ABC), ZVI, and LactOil.

The project was designed to treat the contamination source area while also creating a barrier wall down gradient to prevent off site migration of contaminants.  Drilled injections wells were used in the source area, whereas a combination of drilled injection wells and DPT injection points were used to construct the barrier wall.  DPT injection points were needed in order to inject ZVI.

ORIN is capable of successfully completing projects outside the contiguous United States.  This valuable capability allows ORIN’s clients to hire a reputable contractor to complete projects in areas where similar services are not provided.
